Man In Blue

This is one of the most abstract shots so far.  I brightened up the spectral highlight in the top left and cropped it just a bit so that the horizontal lines were parallel to the image edges.  Otherwise I did not do much with this image – it was nearly perfect.

Father and Child With Taxi

Serendipity plays a lot into these soft-focus images, and I love that.  It’s exciting to get back to my computer, download the images, and then see how they’ve turned out.  It reminds me of the days of shooting film when I’d have to wait until I got the negs back to see if I got […]

Ascending to the Light

I have been shooting a bit more for my “Visual Whispers” body of work and I am getting excited about where it is going visually. I am figuring out what I want to explore as it relates to color, form, composition, light, and how much I can abstract the figures and environment before the picture […]

Updated Gallery of Soft Focus Imagery

I have updated my gallery of soft focus work, including a different title to better reflect what I am going after with the work. It will continue to evolve. But I love what I have done over the last week and the direction in which it is going.

Sean in White Shirt

I enjoy photographing Sean.  He knows how to pose his lithe frame for the camera.  I’ve photographed him quite a bit and we always get something good.  This was done at my apartment using a paper globe on a torchiere.  I loved the quality of the light.

Picture of Motel Window Curtain

I shot this from inside a motel room in Florida.  I like the abstract quality of the image.  I love the quality of the light and how the sunlight filters through the polyester fabric to create the soft hues that go from blue, blue-green, and into a light gold.
